This event is open to the whole Cornell community, no connection to a sorority or fraternity is required.

Chanel Miller is a writer and advocate who was sexually assaulted by Brock Turner at Stanford University in 2015 and known anonymously as “Emily Doe” during the trial. Her victim impact statement went viral, sparking national debate, influencing California law, and contributing to the judge’s recall.

In 2019, she revealed her identity with her bestselling memoir Know My Name and continues advocating for survivors’ rights.

Chanel will share her journey and focus on sexual assault survival, reclaiming personal narrative, and systemic change. She will highlight healing, resilience, and the power of storytelling to challenge societal views on sexual violence.

Current Cornell chapters: 15% of each chapter is required to attend this event.
