Spreading awareness and facilitating prevention: "Seeing Rape" is a program from John Jay College in New York City that brings stories of sexual violence to professional theater productions. The show is a collection of four short plays that address topics of sexual violence and abuse, highlighting the rhetoric, environments, and behaviors that contribute to harm. Our goal is not only to raise awareness of these issues but also to spark discussion on our own campus—ultimately engaging everyone in preventing and combating such violence. The performance will be followed by a panel discussion with a variety of relevant Cornell faculty, staff, and students, along with open questions and comments from the audience.
