Hello everyone,

We are excited to invite scholars across campus to participate in Queerinar, a conference that celebrates and showcases the breadth of work and art produced by the queer and trans scholars and artists at Cornell. The event is an opportunity to humanize our work by placing it in the context of our shared identities and experiences. Past talks have included a variety of topics and tones, from more professional to more casual.

Some examples of past topics included:

Curse Tablets from the Roman Empire and the Gay Agenda

"Y'all wanted a twist, eh?": DNA Mechanics through Drag Race References

Exploring variation in the sex determination signal of D. melanogaster

The Queerinar will included presentation slots of ~10-15 minutes and a reception with an exhibit of posters and other creative works.

To participate, please submit a working title and short, 1-2 sentence summary of your talk, by Wednesday, April 8th at 11:59pm. We encourage submissions from individuals across disciplines.

Participants will then be invited to present their work at Queerinar, which will take place on Wednesday, April 22nd from 5:00 - 8:00 pm (dinner will be provided). We encourage folks to attend for part or all of the Queerinar. This event is open to all members of the campus community, and we encourage everyone to attend and support their colleagues.
