There's a total solar eclipse coming up on April 8, 2024! The Sun will NOT be fully covered in Ithaca, so it is NEVER safe to gaze directly at the Sun from here on April 8th. If you’d like to safely view the eclipse, here are some tips:

• Do NOT look at the sun with just your eyes outside of totality. There is NO totality in Ithaca. If you want to see totality (which won’t happen again in America for 20 years!), you need to travel 1–2 hours north.
   
• Do NOT look at the sun with sunglasses. This could permanently damage your eyes. Only use certified eclipse glasses, which can be found on the American Astronomical Society website.
   
• From Ithaca, you need to travel to see totality. Use an interactive eclipse map and find your exact destination, then write down the time in seconds that totality starts and ends there. Wear your eclipse glasses (ABOVE any prescription glasses) until the second that totality hits, and put them back on right before totality ends.

Alumni Affairs and Development (AAD) is now hiring 100+ student staff positions for Cornell Reunion from June 6-9, 2024!

Reunion Clerks are an integral part of Reunion execution. Both Reunion Class Clerks and Reunion Head Clerks are responsible for providing hospitality and customer service to all guests throughout Reunion Weekend. As a clerk you’ll staff Cornell’s largest alumni event: Reunion! We’re looking for passionate students to help make the weekend a success!

• Reunion Class Clerk, this is a one-week gig: June 3-9 with training from June 3-5 and Reunion from June 6-9. Starting pay is $15.00/hr
• Reunion Head Clerks (a clerk leadership position) work from June 2-10 with training from June 2-5, reunion from June 6-9, and reunion debrief on June 10. Reunion Head Clerks have the option to start even earlier. Starting pay is $16.00/hr.

For both positions, on-campus housing and meals during shifts are provided.

The Clerk application will close Sunday, April 21st at midnight.

We also have two other positions we are filling for Reunion, our Van Driver and Set-Up Worker roles. Both roles will work from Thursday, June 6 through Sunday, June 9 (4 days only). Starting pay is $15 per hour for 30-46 hours.
