Tonight is Holland Internation Living Center's Open House Event! Today also happens to be Día de los Muertos.
Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a two-day festival that takes place every November 1st and 2nd. Although most strongly identified with Mexico, Día de los Muertos is celebrated throughout Latin America and everywhere with a Latino population. It is the time of the year where we celebrate life and death, and commemorate family members and ancestors who have passed away. Please join the HILC Community Council tonight in celebrating this special holiday.
As the event is also our Fall 2021 Open House, HILC Comunity Council members will be offering a tour of HILC starting at 7:30pm. There will be an ofrenda (altar) set up in the main lounge, so please feel free to brinng photos or mementos of your loved ones that you want to remember. You do not have to be from Mexico or have Mexian heritage to participate in the ofrenda or to celebrate Día de los Muertos, ALL are welcome!
As a thank you to our attendees, the first 30 people to check in at the event will get a free bubble tea! Bubble tea will be provided around 8:15pm.
Last but not the least, we will end the night with a showing of the movie Coco!
Please feel free to register to reserve your spot.
We cannot wait to see you there!
