About Us

The purpose of Cornell HEMA shall be to facilitate Historical European Martial Arts study among the University's undergraduates. The club's main focus is in the German Longsword tradition, however, we are open to studying other weaponry and styles based on member interest. We shall facilitate manuscript-based study of techniques. However, we put the safety and health of our members before anything else. Therefore, a large portion of club activity will be dedicated to safety training and conditioning, and sparring will be done with feders (plastic swords).
