The Cornell Gender Equity Resource Center [GenEq] (formerly the Cornell Women’s Resource Center – WRC) and the sisters of the Cornell chapter of Delta Gamma will present “
Staying True to You” as the theme for the second annual
REALTALK speaker series on Friday, October 13 at 7:30 PM at Barnes Hall Auditorium on the Cornell campus. This year’s speakers will be former Cornell women’s hockey captain and current hockey coach Alyssa Gagliardi Sleasman (CALS, '14) and chef, author and entrepreneur Irene Li (College Scholar, '15), owner of Mei Mei Dumplings in Boston and six-time nominee for the James Beard Foundation Rising Star Chef award. Admission is free to this event.
REALTALK's 2023 theme, "Staying True to You," delves into the vital strategies and advantages of upholding your core values, particularly when facing challenges or compromise in the workplace. The panel discussion, moderated by Cornell students, will deliver the speakers' compelling insights from their own life experiences. Each year,
REALTALK endeavors to showcase
Relatable,
Empowering,
Authentic
Leaders who, through candid personal narratives, ignite inspiration and engage the diverse Cornell community. The speakers convey messages that drive forward the empowerment of women, nurturing their personal and professional growth. In 2022, the inaugural
REALTALK event drew an audience of nearly 200 attendees, with an additional 300 viewers participating in the program's livestream via eCornell.
