This weekend, CHS traveled to the New Jersey Pine Barrens for an intensive field herping experience! Despite the extreme heat, we found a lot of target species and had a great time. We also saw some vipers in the Poconos on a mid-drive stop on the way to the Pine Barrens. Thanks to everyone who attended, and looking forward to getting down there again in the spring!
Some of the herps we saw:

Eastern kingsnake (
Lampropeltis getula)

Southern leopard frog (
Lithobates vigraticeps)

Eastern fence lizard (
Sceloporus undulatus)

Little brown skink (
Scincella lateralis)

Fowler's toad (
Anaxyrus fowleri)

Eastern copperhead (
Agkistrodon contortrix)

Timber rattlesnake (
Crotalus horridus)
