Meet House Fellow Bonnie Comella and guest Rachael Perry

*** Attention pre-health students (but all are welcome!) ***

Artificial intelligence is revolutionizing medicine, making healthcare faster and smarter by helping doctors diagnose diseases earlier, choose the best treatments, and even customize care for each patient. However, the use of AI also raises important ethical questions about patient privacy, data security, and the potential for bias in algorithmic decision-making. How should the benefits of AI-driven advancements be balanced with concerns about equity, transparency, and consent, which is crucial for ensuring fair and responsible healthcare practices? What are the impacts on training medical students?

Dr. Comella is the Associate Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education and Rachael Perry is the Director of Health Professions Advising at Cornell. Both experienced health professions advisors, they will facilitate a discussion about the new landscape of AI in medicine and what pre-health students need to think about as they progress through their course work, gain clinical experiences, and ultimately write their applications and prep for interviews.
