DeVonne Jackson Perez is devoted to developing sustainable local food systems. For the past several years, she has bridged gaps among industries to advance circularity and wellbeing -- from sustainable fashion to communications to the food industry. As a development consultant for a Brooklyn-based agriculture organization, she helps farmers connect with local and regional markets to promote their production and sustainability. Working with farmers and gardeners in New York City and in Kampala, Uganda, she encourages self-sufficiency around urban growing to create nutritious food access and food sovereignty.
