This week, the Making Do knitting group will be joined by Professor Melissa Conroy from the Department of Human Centered Design. Professor Conroy's teaching specialty is knitwear design, and she has recently taught a class where fashion students developed knit fabric and clothing after closely following the NYS fiber pipeline. She'll discuss how knowledge of the fiber production process influenced her students' design outcomes, and we'll get to see a bunch of different NYS wool swatches. This also an opportunity for us hobbyist knitters glimpse how larger scale knitwear production works.

Non-knitters are welcome to drop by & knitters are welcome to knit during the talk as always.
