Asia Night 2023

Join us for FREE food, drinks, and performances at Klarman Hall on March 25th for CAPSU's 18th annual Asia Night!

Similar to how our organizations and communities fall under broad terms, including Asian, Asian-American, AAPI, or APIDA, yet they boast more precisely unique identities, this year's Asia Night theme, Into the Asiaverse: Adventure Theme Park, hopes to showcase these identities through entertainment by broadcasting the ways in which people come together across the broad realm of East, South, and Southeast Asia. How can we bring together a diverse group of cultures? How can we use entertainment to both share aspects of our own culture/s as well as educate ourselves and enjoy others?

All participating booths created by our member organizations will choose a form of entertainment that highlights aspects of a culture. This will be in the form of:
1. A popular culture character or influential figure (i.e. Donkey Kong to Malala Yousafzai)
2. A physical location (i.e. could range from a popular fast food chain to entire country)
3. Media (arcade, video games, physical games, board games, movies).

Instead of traveling the world, we're deep diving into various forms of entertainment that have defined aspects of our Asian and APIDA Cornellians' stories and heritage. Anyone is welcome to join our event, where participating organizations will have FREE food and/or performances available.
