SLOPE DAY 2024
Be a Good Samaritan
As members of a caring community, it's important we look out for one another's safety. If you're concerned about someone's health or safety as a result of alcohol or drug (AOD) use, act promptly: Call 911 (or flag down a volunteer if you're on the Slope) so the person can get medical care, as AOD emergencies can be fatal. Cornell and NY State have Good Samaritan protocols/laws in place to protect from judicial and legal consequences those who call for help—and those who receive help—in an alcohol- or drug-related emergency.
CAPS Workshops
Drink Limits, Understanding BAC
Join Linda Stout, MSEd, CASAC, for a confidential workshop to learn the real science around blood alcohol concentration. Wednesday 4/24, from 4:00-5:00 p.m.
Cannabis, Considerations for University Students
Join Linda Stout, MSEd, CASAC, to learn more about cannabis and—if you choose to use it—safer use of it. Wednesday, 5/1, from 4:00-5:00 p.m.
Cannabis Safety
Although NY State legalized the recreational use of cannabis for adults aged 21 and older, cannabis use remains prohibited on Cornell's campus. Check out Cornell Health’s cannabis/marijuana webpage for additional resources and to learn more.
Sensory Room
For those needing to take a break from the stimulation of Slope Day, the sensory space is a relaxing environment located in the Willard Straight Hall (WSH) International Lounge. This space is designed to accommodate those with disabilities, including those in our Neurodivergent community, who can benefit from a brief reprieve of Slope Day activities. This space is accessible only through the WSH South entrance (near the Cornell Health gate).
New Entry Rules
Clear bags only. Clear, plastic reusable water bottles only. Gates open at 11 a.m. and close at 5 p.m. Only those who have purchased Slope Day wristbands will be permitted to enter through the gates.
